The 48th annual NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park is wrapped up and now written into the history books. I had a great time at my all-time favorite drag strip over the last few days. I want to thank the NHRA and the E'Town staff for showing me such warm and gracious hospitality (to go along with the rather warm temperatures)... And I also want to thank all you many folks from the drag racing internet who made the effort to meet me and say hello-- you're the best friends a gal could ever ask for...  Let's get to the subject of winners-- In Top Fuel we witnessed Steve Torrence in his Capco Construction dragster break a lot of Jersey hearts when he defeated NJ native Antron Brown in the final-- This marks Torrence's 2nd Summernats win in a row!... "Fast" Jack Beckman beat Funny Car stalwart Ron Capps to be victorious in the nefarious nitro flopper field... Much like Steve Torrence did in Top Fuel, Pro Stock veteran Greg Anderson broke a lot of New Jersey/New York area hearts by defeating local racer Vincent Nobile in the final round of the "factory hot rods"... Jerry Savoie beat Hector Arana Jr. in the Pro Stock Motorcycle class to clinch his 1st win of the year... My old pal "Trickie" Rickie Smith pounced the Pro Modified category... Jeff Brooks toppled the Top Sportsman contingent... Frank Aragona clinched Competition Eliminator... Timothy Fletcher stormed the tough Super Stock field... Longtime E'Town racer Peter Biondo proved once again that he's a major threat in Stock Eliminator... Kevin Robb got to the top of the Super Comp heap... Dan Northrop steamed over the the competition in Super Gas... Anthony Capirose dominated Jr. Dragster... Bernard Thompson won the Summit Motorcycle class, and last but certainly not least Danny Maclosky won Summit Pro E.T... The Summernationals proved to be a great weekend of drag racing... Oh, and a shout out to all the hard workers of the FOX SPORTS 1 team for putting together such a spectacular broadcast for the folks watching at home...
