I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CAMILLO'S ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN SAYREVILLE, NEW JERSEY... IT'S A PLEASANT TREAT FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY...

People often ask me what are my favorite restaurants and places to eat... And admittedly, I usually don't write much about food related subjects here on this drag racing based blog... However, I thought that today I'd make an exception. I'd like to fill you in about Camillo's Restaurant located at 31 MacArthur Avenue in Sayreville, New Jersey (about 10 miles north of Old Bridge Township Raceway Park). Camillo's specialty is Italian cuisine. It's a family friendly eatery with relatively reasonable pricing. Some of their dishes that I recommend include their Almond-Crusted Boston Scrod, baked in a scampi sauce, served over escarole, roasted butternut squash and zucchini. Camillo's Mediterranean Salad is a healthy heaping of goodness, eating this might help you live a long and healthy life, much like legendary drag racer Chris "The Golden Greek" Karamesines. Other delectable dishes are the Blackened Salmon Over Mixed Green Salad, Eggplant Lasagna, and the Fried Calamari is simply done but spectacular. If pizza is your craving, Camillo's Sicilian styled is the best I've ever sampled in New Jersey. Lunch and dinner are served. Reservations and walk-ins are welcome. They also do take-out and catering. Coffee and alcohol drinks are available on the beverage menu. The place is good for kids and the service is cordial and prompt. I give Camillo's a lot of credit for bouncing back strong after Superstorm Sandy severely soaked Sayreville several years ago. I dine at Camillo's at least once a week. After coming out of long Big Stick recording sessions, it's always a pleasure to enjoy a delicious meal there. I graciously rate Camillo's restaurant at four and a half "Doc Stars"... If you're in the area I do suggest making an effort to give 'em a try... And with the tail-end of the holiday season now winding down, a visit to Camillo's can be a nice treat for Mom, giving her a break from the kitchen, and an opportunity to sit down with the family and appreciate a meal without her having to do all the grueling pots n' pans grunt work...
