Wow... Had a blast at yesterday's (Friday's) chapter of the 48th Annual NHRA Summernationals, at my all time favorite drag strip in the world-- Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey... Here's some random notes I took... Antron Brown broke his own two year E.T. record in Top Fuel with a blistering 3.713 and subsequently holds the No#1 qualifying spot... Courtney Force sure bounced back from her New England Nationals banger last weekend with a 3.725 to break Ron Capps' Funny Car E.T. record from last year's Summernats, and she's currently the No#1 qualifier... Bo Butner holds the top qualifying spot in Pro Stock with a 6.551... I'm appreciative for getting the chance to spend some time with Alexis DeJoria and talk about my Big Stick music stuff. Alexis is back in the Funny Car saddle and currently qualified 11th in the field... The NHRA Summit Jr. Drag Racing League was launched 25 years ago at this Summernats event-- A large group of Jr. racers were on hand to take part in a weekend-long celebration of that fact-- as you may already know, the Jr. Dragster revolution was started at E'Town by the late, great Vinnie Napp and his son David... Today (Saturday) pro nitro qualifying sessions are at 2:30pm and 5pm-- BE THERE!!!-- I surely will!!... And if for some reason you can't be there, check your listings for Fox Sports 1 coverage of the Summernationals...

Yesterday's thrashing on Jim Dunn's 7 Eleven Funny Car. James Campbell drove to the No#12 qualifying spot.
