COURTNEY FORCE & LEAH PRITCHETT ARE CERTAINLY NITRO GALS ON A BLISTERING MISSION FOR NHRA'S 2017 SEASON...

I realize that this is news that's already broke among much of the drag racing related press, but even though I haven't had a chance to post it here over the last couple of days, I believe it's still enough of a significant and worthy story, for me to give it some of my attention for this day's Drag Racing Underground blog installment... I'm talking about the two talented ladies who produced historic timeslips during the recent pre-Winternatonals testing at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Chandler, Arizona... Courtney Force lead the Funny Car contingent with the unofficial record for quickest flopper pass of all time with a 3.804 333.33mph blitz. And on the Top Fuel side of the nitro universe, Leah Pritchett made the unofficial quickest run in NHRA history with a blistering 3.654 331.85mph assault of the asphalt... These ladies demonstrated that they've both got a heavy foot, as we're now about to embark on the official start of NHRA's 2017 racing season. And yes, we know that a lot of credit goes to their crew chiefs and supporting staff, so I certainly do want to give those folks some much deserved recognition as well... Will 2017 be the year we see a gal take the Top Fuel and Funny Car championship?? If the testing in Arizona is any indication of what these two women, and their team members have up their sleeves for the rest of the season, it is indeed a reasonable possibility...
